There are four components of a C.H.E.K. Program:
- Assessment
- Program Design
- Program Instruction
- Program Progression
Assessment
 It has been said, “You are guessing if you’re not assessing.” The information collected determines what stretches, exercises and acute program variables (i.e., sets, reps, rest periods, etc.) are included. The specific health and lifestyle recommendations and referrals are also established based on the knowledge obtained from the assessment.
Program Design
Following your assessment we will design your exercise and holistic lifestyle program. Our findings during the assessment determine the total program: health and lifestyle factors that need to be considered, the nature of the stretches and exercises and the periodization (schedule) plan. Your personal health goal(s), time commitments and available equipment are also taken into consideration. We dedicated to providing you with the state-of-the-art in exercise, health and lifestyle techniques, education and the highest quality service and information available. If after following your exercise program for the prescribed duration you don't find vast improvements in yourself (provided you follow my program as precisely discussed) your money will be refunded.
Program Instruction
This starts with addressing health and lifestyle factors that may be decreasing your vitality. Depending on your baseline condition and personal health goals, you may or may not be advised to start an exercise program in conjunction with your holistic lifestyle program. Health and lifestyle recommendations contained in the holistic lifestyle program will greatly enhance the results of your exercise program. Compliance to these suggestions is strongly advised, but not required in participating with your exercise program. We will set weekly goals to ensure you are progressing to your ultimate objective. All information provided for the exercise and holistic lifestyle program will be recorded on DVD for your future reference.
The exercise program starts with mastering your stretches. Once you have a grasp of your stretches and can replicate them with a good deal of accuracy then you will be taught your exercises. The teaching process always proceeds at a rate that you are comfortable with. The holistic lifestyle program takes 1 to 2 hours to implement after you have completely filled out and returned all the forms. The time frame to learn exercises varies with each person, however, the minimum time frame to learn your exercise program properly is 3 to 4 hours spread over two days. An additional 2-4 weeks of one on one coaching may be necessary to learn the stretches and/or exercises on the first program. It is essential that you know how to perform all the techniques with good form before you attempt to do the program on your own. Your stretches and exercises are videotaped while I am teaching them to you for future reference. It is normal to feel a little overwhelmed during your first visits. Do not worry. This happens to professional athletes, physical therapists, strength and conditioning coaches and those with PhDs in exercise related areas. You will also notice that there is meticulous attention to detail when you are taught your health and lifestyle strategies and stretching/exercise techniques. This is one of the main reasons why my clients succeed and achieve their goals. Free email support is provided over the duration of each program.
Program Progression
Phase I
Once you have been assessed and taught your corrective exercise program you will probably stay on the same program for 6-8 weeks or longer in some cases. There is little point in doing the same exercises for more than this because of the law of diminishing returns starts to take effect. In other words your body will adapt and need a new stimulus to continue benefiting from your exercise program. At the end of this 6-8 weeks period you should have successfully completed Phase I. At this point you should have experienced some significant results.
Phase II
In order to achieve further improvements you need a new corrective exercise program that will provide a fresh training stimulus. A re-assessment is completed, a new exercise program is designed and you are then taught the new techniques. Phase 2 is usually quicker and easier for you to learn because you are no longer in such an unfamiliar environment.
Phase III and beyond
Many of my clients achieve such positive results that they do not feel it necessary to go past three phases of corrective exercise. However, in some cases it may be necessary to go through many phases in order to achieve the optimal goal.
The likely number of phases will be discussed with you during your first assessment but may need to be altered after Phase I is completed.
After attaining the corrective exercise goals many clients choose to continue through phases of advanced conditioning specific to their work, sport or aesthetic goals. Customized Corrective Exercise Program: $650
This program provides 3 components: 1) 2-4 Hour Physical Assessment, 2) Customized Exercise Program Design (1.5-hour value) including the “Customized Holistic Lifestyle Program” and one-hour digitally audio-recorded results session to go over Physical, Holistic Lifestyle Assessment results and your Customized Corrective/Performance Exercise Program. 3) Program Instruction includes 3-4 hours of teaching you your stretching program and exercise program. The stretching program and exercise program will also be recorded on a DVD for you. You are guaranteed nine hours of contact time with Paul. If there is extra time left over after your program is implemented you have the option to receive Neuromuscular Therapy, Personal Training, or Holistic Lifestyle Coaching for the balance of your time.
Ultimate Customized Exercise & Holistic Lifestyle Program: $750
This program provides 4 components: 1) 2-4 Hour Physical Assessment, 2) Customized Exercise Program Design (1.5-hour value) including the “Customized Holistic Lifestyle Program” and the “Advanced Metabolic Typing Program”. 3) TWO one-hour digitally audio-recorded results sessions to go over your Advanced Metabolic Typing Test results and program, your Physical, Holistic Lifestyle Assessment results, and your Customized Corrective/Performance Exercise Program. 4) Program Instruction includes 3-4 hours of teaching you your stretching program and exercise program. The stretching program and exercise program will also be recorded on a DVD for you. You are guaranteed ten hours of contact time with Paul. If there is extra time left over after your program is implemented you have the option to receive Neuromuscular Therapy, Personal Training, or Holistic Lifestyle Coaching for the balance of your time.
Corrective Holistic Exercise Kinesiology: $100 per hour or $25 per quarter hour
